Probus of Swanage
Welcome to the Probus of Swanage Website
A Probus Club Serving Swanage and Surrounding Areas of Purbeck
Our Probus Club based in Swanage provides an opportunity to provide regular meetings for retired or semi-retired professional and business people to meet in a relaxed, friendly, and social setting and value contact with people of a similar background. Our club, Probus of Swanage, currently has 26 members.
We meet on the last Thursday of each month at 10am at the Pines Hotel, Swanage (except in January, when the hotel is closed and we meet elsewhere in the town.) We do not meet in August.
A typical meeting consists of a talk from a visiting speaker usually at 10.15am for a 10.30 start, followed by an opportunity to socialise over a drink before sitting down to a two-course lunch that currently costs £30. (This needs to be booked in advance..)
There is a Programme of Outings to places of interest both in the area and overseas, to which partners are invited. You can read about recent trips on the News Page in the members area.
Cost of membership of Probus of Swanage is currently £30 a year. There is a one off joining fee of £15. Membership responsibilities are undemanding although members are expected at some stage to help in the running of the Club by joining the Probus of Swanage Committee for a period and possibly undertaking one of the offices such as Secretary, Treasurer, Programme Secretary etc.
We welcome new members and invite you to come to one of our meetings. To find out more please complete the Probus of Swanage Membership Enquiry form.
We look forward to meeting you.
